You can downloaded PVS from the PVS webpages at SRI. There is also more documentation there, for example,

System Guide, which gives info about using PVS system
Language Manual, which gives info about the syntax of PVS specification language
Prover Guide, which explains all the prover tactics.

If you want to familiarize yourself with PVS, the Standard introductory tutorial to PVS (WIFT) is the best place to start: Pages 32 and onwards give you a pretty detailed impression of PVS's workings.
